There are places in the world where a concentrated number of people routinely live to 100.

From the lush valleys of Ecuador to the peaceful island of Okinawa to the pristine hills of the Himalayas, these centenarian clusters all have something in common: an environment conducive to a healthy, long life-clean air, pure water, and nature unspoiled by the modern world.

In our Western world, we have to contend with the toxic by-products of our technological advances. Not only have we made our environment cancerous for ourselves, but we have also made it harder for other organisms in nature to thrive. By living in harmony with nature, we bring health to ourselves and to the planet.

Make Our World Less Plastic
Plastic, lightweight, durable, and versatile is everywhere in our modern world - bad news for the environment and our health. Many plastics release vinyl chloride and other harmful gases or contain phthalates that can lead to cancer, birth defects, and lung and liver disease.

Some plastics are right out in the open, like the ones found in our TVs, computers, telephones, coffeemakers, water bottles, and food containers. But some plastics show up in places where you might least suspect them, in carpeting, chewing gum, cosmetics, mattresses, sanitary napkins, polyester clothing, tissues, toilet paper, and upholstery.

Minimize plastic usage to cut your health risks. Use glass water bottles, wooden toys, personal care products and cosmetics made with natural ingredients, and natural fiber clothing, bedding, and mattresses.

Unbleached Paper for the Planet
Paper products do not come naturally white. All white paper is bleached with chemicals that leave behind harmful residues of dioxin, which is a known carcinogen.

These residues are found in coffee filters, diapers, lunch bags, napkins, paper towels, tissues, and toilet paper. When dioxin enters the landfill as waste, it leaches into the soil, contaminating groundwater. Using unbleached paper products is good for both you and the earth.

Green your Clean Routine
Seeking longevity means protecting ourselves from products that are dangerous to our health. Household cleansers containing bleach or chemicals are harmful to inhale. Instead of these, choose natural cleaning products that have recently come onto the market, which are safe and will not pollute the environment. You can use natural brands sold in your local health food stores.

Look no further than your own kitchen for these simple, homemade cleaners:

• Stovetop: sprinkle baking soda on, let it sit five minutes, then scour with steel wool or scrubber. For stubborn spots, mix dishwashing liquid, borax, and warm water, spray the mixture on, and let it sit for 20 minutes before scouring.

• Diluted vinegar is an effective cleanser in the kitchen and bathroom, and will work for tiles, windows, toilet bowls, mirrors, and even carpets. The acetate acid in vinegar also helps inhibit bacteria and mildew.

Try this formula: mix one cup of distilled white vinegar with one cup of water and use it just like you would use any other cleaning product. For those jobs requiring elbow grease, avoid chlorinated powder and scour with baking soda instead.

Eat with Environmental Edge
Commercially grown produce is filled with pesticides, herbicides and toxic chemical residues. Conventional meat, poultry, and dairy products contain high amounts of pesticides, hormones, and antibiotic drugs that are harmful to your health.

These toxins show up in a variety of places, including the water supply, breast milk, and urine. They cause degenerative changes, hormonal problems, immune system disorders, and cancer in both people and animals.

For your own wellbeing and the health of the planet, search out organic foods; whenever possible, buy only organic and free-range poultry and meat.

I hope you find ways to be in harmony with nature! I invite you to visit often and share your own personal health and longevity tips with me.

May you stay healthy, live long, and live happy

For exceptionally dry hair, 5-10 drops of T36-C5 can be applied directly to the hair strands or massaged into the scalp. See the sections on Cradle Cap, Dandruff, Lice and Ringworm in this book.

Drug Poisoning

Three out of every ten hospital admissions are due to either prescription or over-the-counter drug reactions. Sixteen hundred people die each year from aspirin poisoning alone. Be certain that your drug-oriented health care provider communicates all possible side effects from any needed medications. Eli Lily, pharmacist and founder of Lily Pharmaceuticals, is quoted as saying, ‘A drug without side effects is no drug at all’. Dermatitis, nausea, accelerated heart rate, excessive sweating, stomach pains, and diarrhea are some of the milder reactions. Tumours, kidney failure, diabetes, ulcers and sudden death are the more common severe reactions. It is estimated that only one third of prescriptions are taken in the proper dosage or for the length of time that they are prescribed. Authorities swtate that the overuse of prescription antibiotics has resulted in super-resistant strains of bacteria, which defy all known treatment and killed over 13,000 hospitalized patients in 1992 alone.

Some drugs react with others to provide baffling symptoms. When several health care providers are treating the same patient for different conditions, the risk of drug interactions increases. The most recent Physicians Desk Reference lists over 2,300 reaction from drugs. Most of these reactions were from the misuse of the drug. Be informed and realize that the majority of drugs are for ‘treating symptoms’ only and do not offer a cure. If your health care provider says you will need to take the drug for the rest of your life, he or she is often referring to this philosophy. Only the body can cure. Prevention and common sense can reduce the need for many drugs and their potential side effects on us and on our environment.

Always ask your health care provider or pharmacist to list the possible side effects of the prescription drugs you are asked to take. The speed of detoxification can be increased by drinking G’Day Melaleuca Herbal Tea every hour. Take the Vitality Pak, along with ProVex and/or ProVex-Plus daily for additional detoxification.

See the section on Detoxification in this book.

Douche

A douche is a jet of liquid applied externally or internally to the body. It is used for cleansing and for treatment of infections.
Nature’s Cleanse is by far the most effective douche on the market for fighting irritating gynecological conditions including yeast infections, vaginal itching, burning and feminine discomfort.
If Nature’s Cleanse is not available, 3-6 drops of T36-C5 added to a bowl of water can be used. Mix it thoroughly and use as a douche or to bathe the affected area. See the Sitz Bath section in this book.

Dog Bite

As incredible as it may seem, over a million people are bitten by dogs every year. Any animal bite can readily become infected. This is because bites are a type of puncture wound where contaminated secretions are injected deep into the tissues. Dog bites are notorious for becoming infected, and the rule of thumb is that any dog bite that breaks the skin, no matter how superficial, will become infected.
Wash the area with Antibacterial Liquid Soap and water and then apply T36-C5. Repeat three times each day for several days. Then apply it once each day until the wound is healed.

CAUTION: See your health care provider immediately if you cannot verify whether the animal has had a rabies vaccination.

Diverticulosis

Chronic constipation, insufficient fluid intake, inadequate dietary roughage and some medications can cause pressure in the lower bowel sufficient to cause bulges or sacs in the muscular wall. These bulging pockets, or diverticuli, can become impacted with fecal material and extend to over one inch in length. If improperly cared for they can develop irritation, pain and serious infections, a condition known as diverticulosis.

Until about 20 years ago, a low-roughage diet was recommended for treating diverticulosis. However, puddings, white bread, Jell-O and soft vegetables proved to do little to stop the surgeon’s knife. Oat bran, wheat bran and psyllium, along with adequate exercise and liquids are now the treatment of choice for diverticulosis. Drinking 2 to 4 cups of G’Day Melaleuca Tea each day and adding the roughage found in FiberWise is a good way to increase bowel elimination and reduce pressure. FiberWise drink and bars will provide 5 grams of dietary fiber per serving, healthy biotics to maintain digestive balance and other natural extracts for regularity. The American Journal of Digestive Disorders found that 85% of the diverticulosis patients reported a complete disappearance of symptoms after going on a high fiber-diet.

The Vitality Pak, Cell-Wise and ProVex are needed for healing and improved health. Drinking Sustain or Attain every morning is also a very good source of adding fiber to your diet. Those who want to avoid diverticulosis or diverticulitis should strive to eat from five to eight fruits and vegetables every day.

Disinfectants

Disinfectants work by selectively reducing the population of disease causing germs to make room for the friendly germs without harming humans or household plants and animals. Sanitation engineers have taught us that in order to control the spread of disease, we must control the number and transportability of disease-causing germs. Several products are effective and especially stand out for their use in making safe toys, furniture, clothing and bodies. See the Appendix in the back of this book for a comparison of the disinfectant properties of T36-C5 to the agents.

Sponge bathe a sick person with Antibacterial Liquid Soap or the Gold or Platinum Bar on a washcloth to reduce surface germs transported through perspiration. Rinse well. Disinfect the air by running steam vapouriser with 10 drops of T36-C5 and 2 capfuls of Sol-U-Mel in the sick room. For preventing the spread of germs through the skin, use Clear Defense throughout the day to sanitize and kill germs on your hands without the need for soap and water. A general disinfectant solution for cleaning a sickroom is solution of 1 ounce of MelaPower Laundry Detergent plus 1 ounce of Sol-U-Mel in 1 gallon of warm water. Sponge, mop or wipe floors, walls, doorknobs, lamp and bed frames.

Diarrhea

A sudden increase in stool volume, fluidity or frequency of fecal excretion is seen with microbial infections, flu viruses, stress, food poisoning, laxatives, certain genetic and malabsorption problems and electrolyte loss from vomiting or drugs. The greatest concern is depletion of body fluids resulting in vascular collapse (the heart has nothing pump). Children under the age of 4 can dehydrate quickly and die from uncontrolled diarrhea.

Determine the cause if possible. If there is abdominal pain, fever or if the diarrhea does not resolve rapidly, seek emergency help without delay. Otherwise, begin drinking G’Day Melaleuca Tea, 4 to 16 ounces every hour along with Sustain drink for energy and nutrient replacement.
